Wahida Faizi and Farahnaz Frotan have participated in the 68th meeting of this Commission as representatives of Afghan women journalists.
In addition to speaking at the UN General Assembly, they also participated in the parallel and side events of this commission and explained the situation of female journalists in details to the attendees.
As a result, the participants also discussed and exchanged opinions on the strategies and ways to overcome the limitations to improve the situation of women journalists in Afghanistan.
The 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), the UN’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment, which this year started on March 11th and will continue until March 22nd under the priority theme, “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”.
